WI mini album and blog hop winner!

Hello all!  Thank you so much if you were one of the people who stopped by my blog hop this weekend!  The ladies in the hop sure had some awesome projects to share!  I've selected a winner for the blog candy.  It is...

Mona, I will send you an email!  Be on the look out!

Today I would like to share with you a mini album that I completed last week.  I recently hosted a Flat Stanley project for a fifth grade student.  He sent me a Flat Collin and I was to share Flat Collin's adventures in my state!  Here is what I created:

The entire book was cut with chipboard first, then covered with paper.  I used a 12x12 paper and did fit to page on my Expression.  WI, from 50 States, cut out at 8.5" if I remember correctly... :)  The state flag is cut at 5.5".  I am SOOO happy with the way this cut turned out.  For such an intricate cut, I was amazed at how well it came out.  I put it up on pop dots so it sticks off the front.  Tucked in behind is Flat Collin - more on him below.

This is the book spread out a little so you can see the whole thing.

This was the first page where I listed the state bird, tree, etc. and described where Flat Collin had been visiting!

WI is definitely known for agriculture and with that, corn!  Collin had fun hiding in the corn for some pictures.  The cheese piece is cut from Create a Critter at 1.25".

This page explains education in WI.  Hey, most of you know I work in a school! :)

I added some fun clips with our state abbreviation.

This page explores the state teams and fun things to do around the state.

From the back, here's how it looks.

Here is Flat Collin!  He came to me wearing blue jeans and a red hoodie sweatshirt.  He left WI dressed as a Packer player.  Hey, we are the current Super Bowl champs you know!  His clothes/helmet were cut at 5" from Everyday Paper Dolls.

I was planning this out as the Cricut Circle Blog challenge came about - to create a mini album.  PERFECT!  I've entered this in that contest.  I've also shared it on Made by You Mondays.

Thanks for stopping by!

Wisconsin! Ohio Cricut Circle meet

I am so excited to be going to the Cricut Circle meet up in Ohio this weekend!!!  There were a few things going on that I needed to prepare for.  One was to make a calling card to trade with other Circle members.  On one side, you decorate it to represent yourself or something you like.  On the other side, you put your contact information.  This is helpful so that after the crop, you can contact people, visit their blogs, and just have great memories of them!  I made 111 of these cards, hence all those tiny little pieces of cheese I teased you with the other day!  :)

Here is mine:

The recipe:
The card is 3x3 and I used a CM corner rounder to soften the corners.
The light green layer is embossed using a Disney Princess Cuttlebug die. It was then sprayed with Honey Dew Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist to give it a little bit of sparkle (hard to see in the pics).
WI is cut from 50 States, at 6".
The circle logo is cut from Cricut Everyday at 2".
The cheese is cut from Create a Critter at 0.75".    I love cheese and WI is famous for it!

There also was a banner contest going on. Each person was to make one pennant representing the state or country they are from.  I played off of my calling card and came up with this:

The recipe:
The banner is from Birthday Bash at fit to page on a 12x12 sheet.
WI, the circle log and cheese are the same as above.
I hand cut the cow's behind and tail :)  I then flocked the end of the tail with Black flocking powder.
Wisconsin is from Birthday Bash, both regular and shadow, cut at 1.25".
