Two Gorgeous Girls

I picked another layout from the XOXO girls to scraplift!  This was originally a one page layout done by Lipstick Chick - Faye Perata.  Here's my take on making it into a two page layout:

A closer view of the left:

A closer view of the right:

One thing I really like about this layout is the subtle hiding of the details (kid's ages, date, etc.):

The font is from the Cricut Lite cart Cupcake that came out on Black Friday.  I have no idea what I will do with a cart full of cupcake letters but the font on this one seriously rocks!  No capital letters though so you do have to consider that...

I think me finding this scraplifting blog is going to be really helpful with getting my scrapping done!  Yay!!!

Soccer Layout

I found something amazing today - the XOXO blog.  This is a blog that is dedicated to scraplifting.  Yep, you read that right.  They create layouts specifically for you to copy.  Yes!  I love it!   This week, there are two layouts I really wanted to give a try.  One was a soccer layout by Lindsey.  I had just been thinking about doing my daughter's soccer pictures when this came about.

So here's my copy of her layout:

I forgot to pick up my pictures I had printed this week!!!  So right now there are only place holders.  I will try to remember to post an updated picture very soon!

The font I used is the Street Sign solution cart.

The XOXO blog is a challenge and this week's prize is from Candy Shoppe Designs.  Check them out!

Cricut Circle Monthly Challenge

This is the first time I have entered in the monthly challenge for the Cricut Circle.  I had a gift card to give to our babysitter and needed something to jazz it up.  This fit perfectly.  I had also never used Tags, Bags, Boxes and More but was excited to get it during the free download for Gypsy owners.

Here is my project:

The requirements were:
  • Use at least 2 Cricut Cuts - There are 4 cuts in this project.
  • Use a tag made with a cartridge - TBBM
  • Use the color red somewhere - everywhere!
  • Use ribbon - to hold the tag on
  • Use a phrase from one of the cartridges - from Smiley Cards
A view from the side so you can see how it opens:
I hope she likes it!  (Well, I know she will like the gift card inside anyway! =])

    Winter Bulletin Board

It was getting close to winter break time and while I wanted to put up a Christmas bulletin board, I went with winter so I don't have to take it down right away when we get back!  This is "Frosty's Favorite Winter Facts":

The title is made with Winter Frolic's Frosty phrase and then the rest is welded together in my Gypsy using Cuttin' Up font.  It's so much easier to put up a bulletin board with welded phrases than individual letters!

Frosty is inspired by one of the snowmen of Winter Frolic but I cut him freehand to be big enough for the board.

I cut snowflakes from every cartridge I owned that had a snowflake.  I wanted a huge variety, with very few of them being the same.  I used the following carts:
    - Winter Frolic
    - Locker Talk
    - Graphically Speaking
    - Doodlecharms
    - Stretch Your Imagination
    - Speaking of Winter

On a bunch of the snowflakes, I put facts about winter or snow.  Each snowflake is also decorated with glitter glue.  Here are a few of them:

I love the final look of the board.

    Snowman Trifold Card

I made this card for our daycare provider.  She is SO wonderful.  We just love her.  She's also our neighbor!  How cool is that?!  And our friend too!  Our husbands are great friends.

It is made using the trifold feature on Speaking of Winter.  I chose the snowman that makes a number 4.  I thought it was perfect with the momma snowman holding up the baby snowman.  This card was cut at 4", then all the layers on the same trifold feature, also at 4".  I used my Imagine to cut it and just love the precise cuts it gives.

It was looking plain so I also cut the A tree but it was too big so I lopped off the bottom of the tree :)
It was still too plain so I added the snow hills (hand cut) and the little sled (2").  Notice that little snowflake?  That's a leftover from my last card I posted!

Here are a few pics of how the card looks when it is being opened.  This is the first time I have used this trifold feature of this cart.  Turned out well!

I added a personal hand written thank you inside and a gift card to her favorite shopping place!  She loved it!

    A Cup of Cheer

Here is a card I created using Winter Frolic.  I needed to make a card for a gift certificate I was giving to our local coffee shop.

I embellished the coffee cup with stickles and glossy accents. I used my new Cuttlebug snowflake folder from my Circle pal that sent me a stuffed stocking.  My Pink Stamper recently used this same folder and then used white ink to bring out the snowflakes.  Brilliant idea!  It worked great for me.

For the inside, I cut the phrase that goes with and wrote my own personal message.

Welcome to the Shall We Dance Blog Hop!

Welcome! Are you ready to see some great projects featuring the Cricut Circle exclusive Shall We Dance?!  We have 10 talented crafters that will be featuring projects with this cart today.  I am so glad you are here!

To get us started on this hop, I have made a mini notebook as a Christmas present to my youth hip hop team.  There are 10 girls on my team and I have been planning to make them something with this cartridge ever since it was announced that Circle members were getting it!

The notebook is the match book from Fabulous Finds, pg 127.   Inside, I cut 24 pieces of paper to size.

I used my Gypsy to weld the I ♥ Dance phrase from SWD, pg. 34, to the flap that creates the bottom.  It is cut at 1" high.   I used my Gypsy to shrink the width to fit just inside 4", the width of this notebook.

I used a small punch to punch holes through all the paper and used brads to hold the paper in.

I cut this girl from pg.43 at about 2", but then cut off her big skirt to make it slimmer and cooler.  Our uniforms this year are pink tops and black skirts so this is perfect for my girls! I added a bunch of Stickles to bling it up because after all, in dance, glitter is good!  :)  I also cut the flowers on pg. 68, at 1".  I used the Flip button on my E to cut one facing the other direction.

I cut a piece of clear transparency  to cover the cuts.  This will prevent some of the wear and tear that I'm sure the girls will put it through. I didn't want any of the parts to start falling off plus it gives it a more finished look.  Even though you can see my ATG lines here, they are covered up in the final design.

Here is the front after the insert has been glued in.  I love how it turned out!

I also wrote a message to each girl on the first page of their mini notebook.

And that's it!  I really hope the girls like their gifts!  I've got six of them done so far, only 4 more to go!  :)

    It's Stocking Swap opening day!

Yay!  I am participating in a Stocking Exchange with a bunch of Cricut Circle sisters and the day to open presents has finally come!  I received my package about a week ago and I was a good girl and put it right under the tree without even opening the box.

I was really looking forward to getting home after work so I could open and boy was I right!!!  Check this out:

Isn't that amazing?!  Thank you to quiltfrog on the message board for being such an awesome friend!  A lot of this stuff is Creative Memories and I don't order from them so I am super pumped because I don't have any of it!

Quiltfrog also made some of the things she sent me.  Look at this awesome card and ornament:

She also made the stocking, which my daughter loved digging in, and a coaster set.  Love it!!

THANK YOU QUILTFROG!  You are so awesome!  Thank you, thank you!!

    My Pink Stamper challenge

Over at My Pink Stamper, Robyn is doing the 12 days of Christmas.  Today she issued a color challenge and it just so happened I needed to make a card!  Perfect!

This card was made entirely with Winter Frolic.

The mouse was cut and print with my Imagine, at 3".
The saying was also with my Imagine, at 2".

    Holiday Wishes Blog Hop!

Hello!  Hopefully you arrived from MakeUpGirl's fantastic site!  If you happened upon my blog another way and would like to see the whole blog hop, you can start at Wamfamily's site

For this hop, I decided to make a Christmas card with a new design I had discovered.  That evolved into making three cards with different cuts. Here they are from the outside:

I used my Gypsy to take a shape from Graphically Speaking and create this card that folds over on itself.

This card folds into itself.  I am going to write my message and signature on the flaps of the inside.

The paper I used was white on the back, which was too plain for the inside, so I choose to put a piece of Core'dinations white glitter paper inside (4x4) with a border that matches the outside paper pattern.  That frame shape I got from Locker Talk.

I used Jolly Holidays to cut out a character for the inside of my cards.  I really like this cart and the pieces weren't too hard to put together.  All these characters are cut at 3".

I put the characters on the inside of the card with some pretty thick dimensionals I have.  This give them some nice lift off of the paper so that they stick out.

I chose to close each one in a different way.  There are lots of ways you could do this.  I chose a ribbon for the red card, a ornament cut from Jolly Holidays for the black card (this has a small dimensional on the back that is really just holding the ornament to one flap of the card), and a snowflake crystal for the green card (this is adhered with a glue dot).

I think these cards turned out great and what I am so happy about them is that they seem plain on the outside but there is a surprise waiting for you on the inside!  You could slip a gift card in there or a piece of candy, anything little!

Ok, if you are with me this far, you deserve a prize - blog candy!  Look at this cute little scrappin' tote I found!  It also comes with an alphabet stamp set, a set of holiday chipboard letters, and red and gold Stickles!!
Be sure to leave me a comment telling me what your favorite thing about Christmas or the holiday you celebrate is.  You must also leave a way for me to contact you.  You can become a follower if you want to!
