Simply Chamed cake

Hello!  I made this birthday card for a little girl who is turning three.  Perfect that this cake from Simply Charmed has 3 candles on it!

The cake was cut at 4".  The background paper was printed from the Imagine, Nursery Tails.

I embossed with two separete Cuttlebug folders for the cake.

I am entering this into a challenge on  the Cricut Circle blog.  You have to use the CuttleBug and two different Cricut cuts.  Guess what?  I put the birthday hat inside of here but didn't take a picture of the inside! Ah!!!  Hopefully I will still count...

Make it your way challenge

This month, the Cricut Circle is having a few challenges.  One is to take a project from the May Cricut Circle Magazine and make it your way.  I needed a quick card to send out that wasn't for a specific occasion.  Lisa Falduto's "You are my Sunshine" card fit the bill perfectly!

Here is my version of her card:

This uses the Imagine Nursery Tails cart - brown and blue floral paper, blue dragonfly paper, 3.5" tree and layers, and 1.5" "you are my sunshine" and layers.

Thanks Lisa!

It's a Girl! - A shape card using the Imagine

A young girl that I care very much for (she is seriously such a great girl!) recently had her first baby, at nearly the exact same time in her life that I had my first daughter.  I met her when she was in high school and I was the dance team coach in the same school district. I no longer live by her so I wanted to send her something to congratulate her.  I packed a box of presents and made this card for her.

I printed the baby dress from Nursery Tails at 5".  I then turned my Imagine to Cut Only and cut another one from white paper at the same size.  This gave me the printed front of my card and a white side for the back.  This is a great way to make a shape card until ProvoCraft is able to make an update that allows us to weld shapes together.

I printed another of the pocket by using the layers option of the Imagine.  I then printed a tiny little tag at 1".  I popped up the pocket and slipped the tag in underneath. I also printed another lamb just for fun.

The sentiment I stamped on the inside:

And here is a picture of the back.  I adhered the sleeve and side of one side of the dress together and scored it so that it would open nicely.

I hope you are all having a great week and that you enjoy the upcoming weekend!  Happy Mother's Day to all of you mommies out there!

Children at Play card

In early March, the Cricut Circle blog featured a board game project.  I made my own version of that game and you can see it in THIS POST.  I gave this game to our neighbor girl when her little brother was born.  I also made this card to go with it:

This card fits in a regular business size envelope.  The pattern is printed from the Nursery Tails Imagine cart.  The girl is from Best Friends and the lettering is printed on the Imagine and cut with the Birthday Bash cart.  Here is a close up:

On the inside I put the same girl's face from Best Friends but without the sunglasses.  Breaking apart the layers on the Imagine is super simple.

I added our congratulations by hand writing on the inside and wallah - a matching card!  Thanks for stopping by!

What it means to love you - Blog hop!

Welcome!  If you have arrived from Laura's blog, you are in the right place!  If you happened along to my blog by accident, please join the hop by going to Dawn's blog and starting from the beginning.

For today's blog hop, we are sharing scrapbook layouts that explain how or why we love someone.  A member of our hop is going through a rough time but continually pours her love out everyday to the people that need her the most.  We are hopping along to share in her expression of love for those people in our own lives.

This layout sketch was posted as a challenge on the Circle message board a few days ago.  As soon as I saw it, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it.  Here is the layout I created:

First, the papers:
Solid pink background is Recollections.
Darkest pink paper and medium pink printed papers are from the American Girl stack, which you can find at Michael's.
The lightest pink paper on the bottom is printed paper from the Imagine cart Nursery Tails.
The touch of neon green in the flowers is Recollections.

Next the Cricut cuts:
The title is the font on the Cupcake (a Lite cart - if you haven't checked out this font, you are missing out big time!) "what it means to you" was welded and cut at 0.75".  "love" and it's welded shadow were cut at 1.05".
The flowers are two variations from Hello Kitty Greetings and were cut at 2" and 1.3".
The circle tag is from Doodlecharms and was cut at 1.6".

Here is a close-up of the journaling, in case you are wondering what it says.  This is always the most nerve wracking part for me.  I always do my writing as the very last thing after my page is all glued down.  What if I screw up?!?!?

Lastly, how about some blog candy?  I will give away this I-Rock and gems to one lucky person who leaves a comment on this post and follows my blog if you haven't already.  Please leave a way for me to contact you so that I can get you your prize after the hop is over!  I will draw a winner on Monday, March 21.

Thanks for visiting! Be sure to go to Shawn's blog next to see her awesome layout!  In case you need the list of everyone's blog to get back to the right place, here it is:

Children at Play!

Ahhh!!!  I am so excited about this project I am about to share with you!!!  Last week on the Cricut Circle Blog, Cindy made an AWESOME board game for her granddaughters.  It was a princess game that she made using her Imagine.  I was super inspired and wanted to make one just like it! Here it is:

The girl I made this for just became a big sister.  In my opinion, you can't give a baby gift without something for the brand new sibling too!   This project was made with my Imagine, Imagine carts, one regular cart, and a few other supplies.  I mostly followed Cindy's directions just altering it for my recipient, who is a little less girly and I think will prefer regular girls instead of princesses.

Here is the game board itself:

The bottom ivory color paper and the middle blue butterfly paper was printed using the Nursery Tails cart.  The tree and sun paper is also a pattern from Nursery Tails, filling a stock shape that is built in to the Imagine.  The total size of the game board is 11.5" x 10".    The circles are shapes from Nursery tails that I custom colored and cut at 1.2" each.  The house is Nursery Tails, cut at about 3".

Next up is the die:

This is the box from Tags, Bags, Boxes & More.  I printed a sheet of paper with a pattern from Nursery Tails Imagine cart.  Then I cut the box out and assembled it.  Thanks to Cindy's tip, I cut some styrofoam to put in the inside to keep it from collapsing on itself when you roll it.  The numbers are cut at 1.2" from Birthday Bash, my first cuts from that cart!

Here is a more detailed pic of the game board and die:

On to the girls!  These three girls are all from the Best Friends Imagine cart.  They are all cut at 3.7" and I cut them twice, once regular and once flipped.  Then I took a doll clothespin and stand (purchased from Michael's in the doll clothes aisle) and glued the girls to them.  I used Tacky Glue, which you can see in the background.  If you look at the girl in the yellow shirt, you will see a weird looking circle in her forehead.  That's because I used too much glue in that spot so WARNING!  :)

Here is a picture of them sideways or laying down so you can see how they are assembled:

The rules of the game are pretty basic, as this is for a three year old girl.  The girls start at the bottom of the board and work their way around on their own path until they reach the house.  The numbers on the die are 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, and 3.  This will make it take enough rolls to get to the house but not so many that a three year old is too frustrated with the game to finish.   (Note: I made three girls but it only takes two to play the game.)

And here is another final pic!

I am so excited about this project!  I am also entering it into the monthly challenge on the blog, the winner of which will receive a gently-used Expression and four carts sent to a school of their choice!  Awesome!!!

I would love to hear any comments you have about the game.  If you are a Circle member, Cindy has directions that you can download for the game she made on the Circle blog.  They were a great reference to use as I made my own game. Thanks again for stopping by!!

Prince Charming card

A very close friend of mine recently had her baby - a boy!  This is the card I made for her since we are going to visit this weekend.  I can't wait to see the little guy!

Everything on this card is printed with the Imagine.  I also opened up and used my B is for Boy Cricut Lite cart!  The baby is from B is for Boy, cut at 3.5".  The wavy borders are from the Nursery Tails Imagine cart.  I embellished with two silver brads as buttons and used a Peachy Keen stamp for the adorable little face.

Prince Charming is from B is for Boys.  There is also a crown with this saying - it's on the baby's head on the front!  I cut it once in blue and once in green, flood filling with Imagine colors.

The border printed out really long set at 2" so I wrapped it around the back of the card as well.

Thanks for stopping by!
